Dawnshard

This book is between Oathbringer and Rythm of War. We find out that Yalb survived the sinking ship but unfortunately can’t get hired with the other survivors as people view them as bad luck.

However this book isn’t about Yalb. It’s about Ryan the owner of the Wandersail, The Lopen and Chiri-Chiri. This is perfect for fans of Pirates of the Caribbean because it definitely gives off some of those same vibes. It’s a short little novella but it helps as we see how some of the character changes between the two main books occur.

This was nice because the readers get to see how something that was intended for accessibility also got used to create something else. This is often the case though which is why inclusion is so important. In this particular instance it was Navani creating something to help a wheel chair user be able to float their chair instead of having to wheel it around.

It’s a fun side quest and well worth the read however I’m glad that I get to back to the main events as I miss Syl and Kaladin.
