Oathbringer

This is the third book in the Stormlight Archive so make sure you’ve started with The Way of Kings. I also recommend reading Warbreaker before reading this one as there are some references to it in this book.
I think I actually like Words of Radiance more than this one but maybe that’s because it had Kaladin’s superhero moment in it when he finally realizes that he has to protect someone that he hates from a friend. This book we FINALLY get to learn what happened to Dalinar’s wife and fill in some of the blanks in his memory.
This book was all about a person’s ability to change and grow, taking the next step in a journey even when you don’t think that you can. Shallan is starting to heal with help from Adolin. I think we all knew that those two would end up together even if some of us were hoping for a different outcome.
I was getting really worried about Shallan because she reminded me a bit of Ryo in Digimon Survive, where I could see their mental health was deteriorating but as a reader.. I couldn’t do anything to help. Adolin helped to bring her back from the brink so that she could pull herself together. We also got to see Lift again and she made some interesting friends in this story. No food is safe with her around though!
I’m on book 5 (Wind and Truth) Stellar series! How would you rate this one, compared to the The Way of the Kings and Words of Radiance?

I’m reading Rhythm of War right now and so far Words of Radiance is my favourite. I spent a good portion of that book frustrated with Kaladin but in a certain scene he managed to pull it together for Syl. (Being vague to avoid spoilers for people). I was so annoyed I actually looked up a spoiler because I would have stopped reading if a certain thing happened.
I also hate Kaladin’s Dad in the current book and want to slap him repeatedly but that will be the next review. (I hate him more than Odium at the moment). I’ve also been reading the in between books thankfully Kobo puts them in order for me. After book 5 I hear is the best time to read Misborn era 2 the Wax and Wayne series so I’m excited for that as well. I’ll read those after re-reading something else though to give myself a Sanderson break.
