Ironside
This is the final book in the modern faerie tale series by Holly Black which started with Tithe.
After the side quest with Val, we are back to original couple of Roiben and Kaye. We do see Val and Luis in this book though so hopefully you read Valiant. The description of the book focuses on the quest that Kaye is sent on and while that is important I think the bigger focus of the book is Kaye finding her place in her family.
Corny finally found someone of his very own and luckily stayed a good person throughout the series. I was very concerned about him after the first book but luckily he stayed a good person.
Luis went through a fair bit in this book and it was nice to see more of him as I was curious about what would happen after Valiant. Honestly I feel like his character had the toughest time out all of them.
It was mostly a good ending, with a touch of sadness but not every series needs a straight up happy ending. I was happy to see how Kaye’s family accepted her even though she isn’t human. I was hoping for it, but you just never know which way an author is going to with family dynamics.
I very much enjoyed the series and will definitely read more from this author. I still feel this is for an older teen to adult audience though.
