Shadows Of Self

This is book 2 of the Wax and Wayne series and technically book 5 of the Mistborn saga.
It took me quite a while to finish this one as I had trouble getting started. It’s mostly because of the western vibe of the book. However once the Kandra came back into the picture.. well I started enjoying the book a bit more.
I was super happy to see the Kandra pop up again as I was wondering how the species has been doing since Harmony took over.
We had a nice little conspiracy filled with murder and mayhem. We even got to see another character from the original trilogy make an appearance in this book. The best part of this book for me was probably when Harmony told Wax to quit being a jerk to Marasi since it took a lot of effort to get her in a place to be able to help. Wax really did need that little slap of reality.
What I didn’t expect to get in this book was closure on the whole Lessie thing. Hopefully Wax will finally be able to move on from that now but the book did leave us with a few questions at the end that I’m pretty sure tie into the Stormlight Archive. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
I obviously recommend this book to fans of Sanderson and those that like western books with a dash of fantasy added to them.
