Rise of the Evening Star
This is the second book in the Fablehaven series so make sure you read Fablehaven first.
While the last book mostly dealt with Kendra, Seth and their family, this book we got to know more about people outside of Fablehaven.
At the end of the first book, Kendra gained the ability to see magical beings without having to drink milk. This causes problems early on for her in school when Kendra notices a Kobold entering her classroom. While the theme of the first book was about obeying rules to stay safe, the theme of this book reminds people to be careful where you place your trust.
I enjoyed reading this one just as much as the first as it’s a fun read for all ages. This one did raise some interesting questions that make me eager to see if we get answers in the next book or further down the line in the series. I definitely recommend it and I can see why so many people love this series.
