This book started at school of all things and with magic, one should always expect there to be unpleasant surprises. In Kendra’s case she learned the hard way by getting kidnapped. Now there is a scene where she meets victims that fell for an ad by a vampire that is eerily similar to how human traffickers would look for victims.
Simple rules in life are don’t take candy from strangers, don’t answer ads about easy money, don’t walk down dark alleys… I mean the little rules that help people stay safe when they are on their own.
If you remember in the last book review when I was suspicious of new characters.. well I nearly shouted out loud when I was proven right. It turns out I wasn’t overthinking things. We lost some more characters (in more ways than one) in this book. That said I hope to see a certain dragon again in the next one because I really liked him.
The next book is the last of this particular series, although there are some side books like a Fablehaven cookbook for example. I can’t wait to see how it all ends!!
