This is book 2 of the Stormlight Archive which began with The Way Of Kings. It’s one of many books in the Cosmere universe.
This book is another slammer for me. I’m not sure why some people complain about the Sanderlanche as I find the book amazing from start to finish.
I think it’s because I enjoy getting to know each character, and how they all connect. There are times where I get impatient wanting more of one particular spot but it’s more of a “I’m in this flow, and I don’t want to change it” than an actual problem with the book. I was really mad at Sanderson for a good portion of the book, so much so that I actually had to look up a spoiler to see if something was true. Luckily that part wasn’t quite true so I could stop being angry with the author.
It was nice to see Jasnah’s point of view as the reader only got Shallan’s perception of her in the last book. Kaladin had a lot of growth in this book, being Kal, he had to be a pain about it but that’s life so it feel real and the payoff was all the better for it.
All in all I greatly enjoyed this book, so of course I’m recommending it to others. I’ll definitely be getting a hard copy of this one.. probably from Dragonsteel itself with Syl pin, Windrunner coin (I matched Windrunner when I took the test long before reading the books). That’s how much I love the series!
