Heart of the Sun Warrior

This book take off a year after the events of the first book Daughter of the Moon Goddess. It seems like we have a Katniss vs. Snow situation going on.
Xingyin has freed her mother, it’s seen as an act of defiance and rebellion by the Celestial Majesties. This gives Catching Fire vibes.
Thankfully readers don’t have to wait too long for everything to change. In true Cdrama style.. everything is not quite what it seems. I admit I did expect a certain trap early in the novel, only to be oddly disappointed when there was no trap. I’m doing my best not to give away spoilers for this book as I enjoyed it a lot more than the first novel.
I will say that I was very satisfied in the ending although there was a brief period where I wondered if it would be possible. At one point near the end, I was pretty angry at author.. luckily it was a passing thought. I read these on my e-reader but I love the story so much that I’m going to buy some physical copies for the bookshelf.
