Ah the 5th and final book in the series featuring Heather Wells. It took a long time but we finally got the wedding the readers were waiting for.
Well we’ve had many murders for Heather to solve but this murder actually takes place before classes at the school even take place which is a bit unfair.
Not only does Heather have to deal with another murder but her mother finally decides to show up. I’ve never wanted to enter a book and slap a character more than I wanted to slap Heather’s mother. She’s a horrible person but luckily Heather stood up to her and a had a whole squad of family and friends that were more than happy to help if she couldn’t do it on her own.
Gavin grew up a fair bit from the first book. He’s no longer elevator surfing or drinking alcohol. He actually found himself a girlfriend and they seem to fit well together. Tom and his boyfriend are still going strong which is nice. Magda and Pete are also still happily together.
There’s a scene in the book where a bunch of people got fired and they totally deserved it. I wish they could have also had criminal charges brought against them though. I’m a little miffed at that actually because so many bad things could have happened and those people would have stayed silent instead of reporting any of it. Reminds me a bit of the evil frat that way.
I’m glad that we got the wedding even if I had to wait until the end of the book for it. It was a good ending to a nice series. The series was a nice light read and I had a few good laughs along the way. I can see this series being a comfort read for many.
