We’ve come to the 5th and final book in this series Blood Debt! However this book is more of a transition book passing the torch to the next series where Tony gets to shine.
It’s like a backdoor pilot episode tucked into your favourite TV show, the same way NCIS started in JAG and Wayward Sisters would have started in Supernautral.
I’m still pissed that we got a Vampire Diaries spinoff instead of a Supernatural one.
Ah well back to the book. We start this book in Vancouver instead of anywhere in Ontario. This is because Henry and Tony moved out there at the end of Blood Pact when Henry could no longer be around Vicki. While Tony has always been a gay character, he was always in the background of the story. However Tony has been there since the first novel Blood Price and it’s been interesting following his story for a change.
I’m also very grateful to be free of the whole Mike and Henry thing because a choice was finally made. That said I should mention that some of the ebook copies end just before chapter 9 and the novel does have more chapters.. so if you find a copy that ends early, point it out to the company so they can fix it.
As for this book, the supernatural element was pretty low. The ghosts much like the werewolves weren’t the big bad, humans were. The horror portion of this book was more about black market organ harvesting than anything supernatural in nature.
Now there are many more books in the blood series but this is the end of this series. The next book aside from the short stories that is, is Smoke and Shadows the first book in the Smoke series which follows Tony’s adventures in Vancouver.
