The Well of Ascension is the second book of the Mistborn Trilogy and takes place 1 year after the ending of the first book.
It turns out that this book was originally where Brandon wanted to start, luckily for everyone he wrote Mistborn instead.
The reason I say this is because it gave the reader more of a chance to know Kelsier and the real story of what happened to Lord Ruler. This book gave us multiple points of view while Mistborn only gave us two. I think that if Mistborn hadn’t been written first, a lot of the moments in this book wouldn’t hit as hard as they did.
I admit that Brandon Sanderson surprised me which I didn’t think would happen again.. yet it did. I think I’m just going to have to admit that he is now on my favourite author list. I’m very excited to read the last book in this trilogy although I know that it isn’t (thankfully) the last book in the Mistborn universe.
